Just came back from spending the day out on the water… I do live on an Island afterall. Not many people can say they live 4 miles away from the mainland. Lucky for me, I have generous friends who occasionally invite us to join them for a day out on their boat. Sometimes we go fishing… other times, like today, it’s simply a boat ride to have lunch at Mudcat Charlies in the Two-Way Fish camp on the Altamaha River near Darien.

On our return trip, we took a scenic route along the Frederica River checking out all the huge deep water homes and marveling at some… you would think with three of the four of us on board being in real estate, we’d be sick to death to looking at houses and would find better use of our time… but apparently this isn’t the case. We also swung by Fort Frederica which looked rather empty and considered an attack but thought better of it when we were reminded that one should never launch an attack until at least 30 minutes after one has eaten… cramps and all, you know.

It’s just funny how we can go about our daily lives and lose sight of the fact that we live in such a unique and amazing place. So it was nice to get out on the water, get a little (or a lot) of sun, watch dolphins playing and enjoy the coast of GA.
